Meet the Artisans

A team of artisans named as Maya, Rekah, Najia, Annu and pooja works on each kantha throw sold at
Each Sari Blanket sold benefits the men and women in one of the most disadvantaged areas of the world. We help create a better livelihood for both them and the families who rely on them. These people have been given the chance to rise above their circumstances and take back their humanity.

Our First artisan Maya who we freed from RED light zone, has been with Jaipur handloom for a little over 2 years receives full medical benefits, education support and healthy living. Maya works incredibly hard to support her children and is saving her income to continue to send her children to school. Maya is able to earn 100% more working with Jaipur Handloom as an artisan and loves the freedom of being able to work from home and watch after her children. She hopes to one day provide them with a new home.

Because the cotton sari cloth is repurposed, the kantha quilts are very, very soft. Imagine a lightweight, muslin fabric, scarf, or swaddle cloth: our blankets are six layers of that soft, thin cloth stitched together.
